Lake Manapouri:
Independent Kayak Rentals.
Day or overnight adventures - spend a day or two
paddling one of New Zealand's most beautiful lakes - Lake Manapouri.
Explore the shoreline, with many places only accessible by watercraft.
We operate top quality double and single sea
kayaks, fully equipped with all safety and paddling gear.
All have dry storage compartments front & rear with steering rudders.
We supply with your kayak rental:
longjohn wetsuits, lifevest, sprayskirt, paddlejacket, pogies,
thermals, colour laminated maps, emergency flares, dri-bag, first-aid kit, bilge pump, paddle & spare paddle, toilet shovel, paddle-float, gear & rubbish bags. Handheld VHF radios are provided
with all trips.
Special Features:
* so you have a safe and enjoyable trip, we provide help & full instruction on:
- packing, paddling and steering of
kayaks.
- weather and water conditions you are likely to encounter
- safety and the use of all safety gear.
* we offer help on planning your trip, pointing out
areas of interest.
* all kayaks are transported to & from the lake from our Waiau Street base.
* we provide changing rooms, toilets, car parking & indoor storage for bikes &
gear.
* your safety is a priority. We can be contacted for assistance, weather updates etc on your VHF (2 way) radio which is provided free of charge with all rentals
You will
need to bring:
drinks, food, sunhat, sunblock, sunglasses, insect repellent, camera (& lots of film), rainjacket, comfortable soft shoes, swimwear and towel, warm sweater and extra clothing.
If overnight camping you will need all necessary equipment for camping (cooking and camping equipment can be hired locally).

Groups need to be water confident with previous experience & good
outdoor knowledge - with a capable outdoor leader.
